God In Your Finances: Testimonies regarding Kingdom Mindset and Tithing

Russell Glyn-Cuthbert & Hilton Kriek presented amazing testimonies on how God blessed their finances and uses them as His vessels to impact the Kingdom of God through the means of finance.

Recognising God's Provision

Understanding God’s role in our finances starts with acknowledging that everything we have comes from Him. King David recognized this truth when he prayed, emphasising that all wealth and success originate from God. Our role is to be faithful stewards of what He has given us, acknowledging His provision in every aspect of our financial life.

“And now, here we are, O God, our God, giving thanks to you, praising your splendid Name. But me—who am I, and who are these my people, that we should presume to be giving something to you? Everything comes from you; all we’re doing is giving back what we’ve been given from your generous hand.”
1 Chronicles 29:13-14 (Message)

The Love of Money vs. Contentment

The Bible warns against the love of money, describing it as the root of all kinds of evil. This doesn’t mean that money itself is evil, but rather, the obsession with wealth can lead us away from God’s path. Instead, we are encouraged to find contentment in God's provision, trusting Him to meet our needs.

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV)

Generosity and Its Rewards

Generosity is a key principle in God’s kingdom. When we give, God promises to bless us in return, not just financially but in many areas of our lives. This principle is not about giving to receive, but about trusting God and reflecting His generosity. True generosity comes from the heart, driven by love and compassion for others.

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
Luke 6:38 (NKJV)

Trusting God with Our Wealth

God calls us to honour Him with our wealth, trusting that He will provide for our needs. This trust is demonstrated through tithing, offerings, and using our resources to further God’s kingdom.

When we honour God first, He promises to take care of the rest, blessing us abundantly so that we can continue to be a blessing to others.

“Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”
Proverbs 3:9-10 (KJV)

Living in God's Financial Principles

Living according to God’s financial principles brings peace, contentment, and a sense of purpose.

As we recognise God’s sovereignty over all things, including our finances, we align ourselves with His will. This alignment not only blesses us but also allows us to be a blessing to others, showing God’s love and generosity through our actions.

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”
Malachi 3:10 (NKJV)
